  The Light

I’ve got picture memories though I’ve taken them down
I’m still standing don’t know which way to fall
No more than what I got now I’ll never need
And though I’ve given so much I still bleed
But they’re just shadows on the wall shadows on the wall
And they don’t know me so I hold myself
And holding on is what I do so well
(Chorus)
You don’t know who I am
There will never be another light like you on me
And where I’m going it won’t shine the same
There will never be someone like you to carry me
For every day that I win I’m losing a few
And if I were you I’d probably give in
I’ll let ya know how it goes, goes it will
And if ya think I’m confident then you gotta know
I’m shaking in these shoes I’m terrified
Cause they don’t know me so I hold myself
And holding on is what I do so well
(Chorus)
I’m turning out the light I’m going to bed
I can’t stay awake thinking nothings wrong
Nothing could be more wrong
Nothing could be more wrong
(Chorus)
I’m turning out the light I’m going to bed
I can’t stay awake thinking nothings wrong
And you don’t know who I am
You don’t know who I am
You don’t know you don’t know
Where I’m going

  Everybody Falls
  Out Here
  How
Setting Sun

Lying awake in a silver spoon
We feel the breeze in the afternoon
The night still heavy on my head
Lying apart in the things unsaid
And all that you need is a little taste of eternity

(Chorus)
I wanna be your setting sun
I wanna be your everyone
I wanna carry through on what it could become
To make me do the things I should have done

The distance is evident
The long look the quick kiss
And we talk but we can’t explain that things
grow or just change
Now all I believe is forcing a smile in front of me
And always is a dream that’s starting to fade

(Chorus)
And if these walls could shake I’d burn it all the way
And we could be heeled
Ah can’t you see

(Chorus)
I wanna be your setting sun
I wanna be your only one
I wanna carry though and throw the chance in front of you
I want to take the passion from the truth and take the words away

Train

You come on strong like a hurricane
Like a train gone off it’s track
Don’t let a fall take it’s toll
Take it easy now
Don’t worry bout the win
Don’t settle down just settle in
Stay on track and you’ll get it back

You’re everything that you need to be
And it don’t come easy if it comes at all

(Chorus)
I won’t let you down alone
You don’t ever have to worry
Got to keep this in your head
No one here can fly higher
No one here can fall harder
Got to ride this train

Don’t find answers on the sidelines you’re on your own
You’ve got what it takes when the lights come on
Almost there with fire to spare no over drive stay alive
Got one more trick to play
I’m everything that you want me to be
And it don’t come easy if it comes at all

(Chorus)
Ride this train
Got to ride this train
(Chorus) (repeat)

Johnnie Dee's solo album "Songs in Dee" is available for purchase directly from this website. Click Here

SONGS IN DEE feature some well known Canadian musicians including Kim Mitchell, Rik Emmett, Kenny Grear and Tara Slone to add some more richness and styles to the album while still maintaining a very organic feel.

For his first solo effort, he teamed with Rob Laidlaw, an accomplished writer/producer, to create the basis for the new sound John was looking for. What they created is a compelling blend of musicality and artistry. SONGS IN DEE took the duo away from keyboard based tunes to guitar rich melodic rock - which is sure to still please the Honeymoon Suite fan base as well as attract fresh new fans.

John's signature voice, undeniable vocal range and great song writing form the basis of the musical style that is John DeGiuli. The songs are more personal than anything John has ever sung before and represent a true reflection of John's ability to explore his craft. He approached topics like good relationships gone badly, with mixture of humor, sarcasm and haunting realism. Exploring several aspects of the emotional gamut, John has poured a lot of heart and soul and personal experiences into this project.
